through some pretty redwood forests...
We stopped along the side of the highway and walked down to visit our last California beach...
Duchess can't get enough of the ocean. Whenever we say "beach", her ears perk up!
There were a lot of strawberry plants already in bloom on the shoreline...
Back on the road, heading for Oregon...
Passing through some beautiful moss-covered trees...
We planned on spending Tuesday night at Harris Beach State Park. We got there around 2:00, and it was drizzling just a bit. We found a great spot to park Jumbo, and Larry and I agreed that we would be quite content to stay there two nights. It was gorgeous - so green and mossy, with tall redwoods surrounding us. And the ocean views! Once again, all I can say is "Wow!"
Even though the rain was coming down pretty strongly by the time Larry got the electricity and cable TV hooked up, we decided to walk the trail down to the beach. By the time we got to the point where it turned towards the beach, we decided to go back and get the car and drive down. I'm more than used to a little rain, but didn't want to slide down the trail!
The views were spectacular! We drove back to Jumbo, changed into some dry clothes, and ate some dinner, all the while listening to the raindrops falling on the roof. I loved it, but I think Larry was becoming a bit disgruntled. I keep telling him that this is what he has to look forward to when we reach Washington. I hope he's up for it!

The Pacific Coast is so beautiful!
