Tinsel, Tinsel, It's Only Tinsel!

A couple of days ago, while driving to work, the memory of my dad putting up our Christmas tree popped into my mind. It was most likely a tree that we had picked out from the woods surrounding our house, one that looked perfectly fine in its natural environment, but when brought inside invariably had a bare spot which would end up facing the wall. Dad would go up into the attic and bring down the box of Christmas ornaments, but before they could be put on, the lights had to be strung. That was a time-consuming chore, since there was sure to be at least one bulb that was burned out. Eventually Dad would have them strung around the branches, the ornaments would be hung, and then came the tinsel! I have always been the one-strand-at-a-time tinsel hanger. No throwing of handfuls on the tree would do! When the decorating was done, we would run outside to see how it looked - Beautiful!
