When Larry suggested that we find a motor home to live in, I was a bit dubious. Did people really do that? As I began researching and reading the websites and blogs of full time RVers, I began to realize that, yes, people do indeed do that, and we could be a part of that world of adventure as well.
Our attempt to find the perfect home on wheels eventually led us to our good friends, Richard and Sandi, who were looking for a new home for "Bertha," their very large motorhome. They were asking $10,000, which seemed like a good price. The night we found out about Bertha, we were watching a program on PBS which dealt with P.T. Barnum's purchase of Jumbo the elephant from the London Zoo for the price of $10,000. Larry and I looked at each other - hmmmm- both the motorhome and Jumbo cost the same; they are both huge. It only seemed logical that our "new" home should be called "Jumbo!" And so it began...

Jumbo is incredible. It will take a lot of hard work and imagination to turn that into a warm and cozy home.
