Picnic Point Without a Picnic

We decided to take advantage of this lovely fall day and go to Picnic Point. It had been awhile since Duchess had done some good beach sniffing. Larry tried out the GPS on his new phone, just to see how well it would guide us there, but since he forgot to specify "Picnic Point Park," the GPS lady had us going around in circles for awhile. We straightened ourselves out, and eventually arrived at our destination.

There were a lot of boats on the water and quite a few fisherman trying their luck.

Whenever I'm at this park and hear the train whistle blow just beyond the bend, I think of Johnny Cash and "Folsom Prison Blues."

"I hear the train a comin'
It's rolling round the bend
And I ain't seen the sunshine since I don't know when..."

 and on it goes...

It was a bit cloudy, but fairly warm.

Larry wanted to cross over this creek to the beach on the other side, but I couldn't find a spot that looked easy, and knowing me, I'd most likely fall in if I tried.

The leaves were falling...

We were hungry, so decided to head for Ivar's in Mukilteo. Unfortunately, at that location, all of their fish is breaded and fried. It's hard to be gluten-free when tempted by clam strips, but a shrimp cocktail and Caesar side salad had to do. It's a small price to pay, I guess. Larry & Duchess, on the other hand, enjoyed fish and chips.

Back home we went for a quiet Sunday afternoon. Hey- everyone seems to be taking a nap but me!
